I.J. Hudson is a former general assignment reporter for News 4 in Washington, who covered breaking news, politics and technology for more than 30 years.
Hudson began his broadcasting career at age 15, working at WKRO-AM while he was still in high school, and working in radio and television during college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Il. After graduation, Hudson entered the U.S. Navy and spent a year in the Tonkin Gulf, followed by assignments in San Diego and New Orleans.
Hudson came to Washington in 1985, after reporting/anchoring stints in Green Bay, Milwaukee, Columbus, Ohio, New Orleans, San Diego and Chicago. He has six Emmy awards, numerous awards for general assignment and feature reporting.
I.J. has also served as Communications Director for a Bethesda law firm, and as part of the Communications team at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
