Restoring the Past in Silver Spring

Over the next few months, AOB apprentices will learn first-hand about mural cleaning and conservation as we work to restore the Silver Pass murals located at the Georgia Avenue (Metro and CSX) underpass. The murals were originally created in 2006 are now in need of some TLC.  Thanks to Amina Cooper, Public Art Manager and Curator for the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County for supporting the project and connecting us with conservator Howard Wellman. With his restoration analysis, our talented teens will have the professional tips and tools to ensure that their artwork is beautiful for generations to come.
