East County Exhibits Strength

AOB projects and partnerships in East County are full of fun this summer. AOB partnered with Story Tapestries and Strathmore’s Bloom to host Amplify US open mic events this spring, and a free open-air screening of the movie Black Panther in Edgewood Park last month. Thanks to Jewru Bandeh, Director of the Eastern Montgomery County Regional Center, for helping us make it happen!

Community Arts Coordinator Michelle Faulkner-Forson has also been planning and fundraising for a permanent artwork to be installed in the East County Community Center. The piece will be initiated by youth leaders from the community and contributed by residents of all ages, including the youth participants of this year’s Summer Fun Camp sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation. More events and more ways to get involved are just around the corner. Want to support the arts in East County? Contribute to the East County GoFundMe page!
